Social media and career companies

I went to see the guys from Career Cruising yesterday. One thing that they mentioned being interested in was some of my stuff on social media. It got me thinking that I haven’t really done much on the role of career companies in using social media. I’ve tended to focus my stuff either on the end user or the practitioner. However the issues are more complex for career companies as the use of social media as an educational intervention gets mixed up in the marketing and public branding of the organisation. Also the focus on “free” can interfere with existing business models.

Anyway I did a bit of thinking and it turned into a series of PowerPoint slides. Here there are. If your company is featured in them it is because I think that you do something interesting or distinctive. I hope that is OK.
