Careers work in the sixth form

I’m giving a talk on Thursday to the SSAT Annual Head of Sixth Form conference at Westminster College.

This is what I thought that I’d do

Careers work in the sixth form

  1. Interesting presentation, Tristram, and I admire the clear drive to connect world weary school leaders with the idealistic reasons why they first became teachers, and also the reminder that we all live career, you, me, them as well as the young people in their sixth forms.

I wonder if you could also incorporate work experience and part time employment as a dimension of career related learning and invite them to consider how they could support that?

I’ll look forward to hearing how it goes

  2. I’m increasingly trying to position careers as the most effective way to deliver a self-actualising liberal education. I’ll let you know how it goes down.

Your point about work experience and work-related learning is fair. I will try and emphasise this more.
