We’re very excited about our new book which is on sale today. Entitled Career Guidance for Social Justice: Contesting Neoliberalism the book is an edited collection which examines the intersections between career guidance, social justice and neoliberalism.
In the book the contributors offer an original and global discussion of the role of career guidance in the struggle for social justice and evaluate the field from a diverse range of theoretical positions. The book draws on education, sociology, and political science to rethink the theoretical basis of career guidance’s involvement in social justice as well as the methodological consequences in relation to career guidance research.
We hope that the book will help to shift the field of career guidance and enable it to engage in a more critical way with some of the challenges that we are facing. We would like career guidance to adopt a critical and emancipatory stance and hope that the book offers practitioners critiques, theories and ideas about how they can engage with these issues and make a difference.
We hope that you will engage with the book by ordering it for your university library and providing us with feedback and thoughts about the way forwards.
We will be posting further updates about the book over the next few weeks and months.
