One of the main activities that The Careers & Enterprise Company undertakes is funding other providers of careers and enterprise activities to scale up and deliver provision for young people. In 2015 we awarded our first fund of £5.6 million invested across 35 projects.
This fund has now completed and we have just published the evaluation of the fund. The evaluation was conducted by the research organisation SQW and is really positive about the impact of the fund. The evaluation finds that the fund: achieved high levels of engagement; was beneficial for stakeholders; contributed to improving the overall quality of careers provision; and demonstrated potential longer-term impacts on young people.
As well as the evaluation we’ve also published a response to the evaluation which sets out some of the key changes that we are going to make in the light of the evaluation report.
