Yesterday, I was presenting to #Cannexus20. I asked participants to think about why politicians should care about career development. An amazing 318 people gave me suggestions which I’ve turned into a Wordle.
People talked about the impact that career development interventions could have on the economy (on growth, on the workforce, on GDP and on development) and also on social justices and sustainability (on mental health, equality, equity, fairness and well-being and so on).
There is a lot more to say about this, some of which I talked about in my presentation.
The key message is that our work has profound impacts on individuals, but because of that it is central to society. Because of this politicians, political parties and policymakers should pay much closer attention to the area.
