As a Leicester resident I was fairly dismayed earlier in the week when the city was put into lockdown. What did we do? I’m not going to speculate on why Leicester has struggled with Covid-19, but poor data sharing from government, structural poverty and some poor employment practices seem to have played a role. Sadly, some people have taken the opportunity to turn to racism and disparage the amazing city where I live.
So, a few people decided to celebrate Leicester and our response to Covid-19 in the film City of Solidarity. Here it is, and if you watch carefully you might see me and my family.
