Earlier today I led a webinar with the Cumbria Careers Hub looking at continuous improvement and evaluation.
My key message was that school’s and college’s need to view their careers programmes as dynamic and developmental. They need to continue to develop and improve in line with the aims of the school or college. While it is important to develop a careers plan, it is equally important to make sure that the careers programme is addressed in the main school improvement plan.
Evaluation is one of the key tools that you have for continuous improvement. Evaluation is not just a question of running some feedback surveys, but rather a way of thinking about what you are doing, what you hope to achieve and how you can be sure that you are achieving it.
